Katie Brandt, owner of Altius Consulting, started her own business in 2005 after working as a senior organizational development consultant at a global Fortune 100 company. She holds a BS in Psychology from Indiana University and an MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Purdue University. She is certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and was trained directly by Brené Brown to facilitate the Dare to Lead™ program.
Brandt lives in Ellicott City, Maryland, with her husband of 28 years, Chris. They have two incredible adult daughters who are bravely discovering their way in the world. Brandt enjoys reading, hiking, yoga, rock hopping, swimming, ping pong, playing games, and spending time with family.

I am the ocean –
Vast, deep, and free,
Ongoing waves of emotion
Rise up through me.
Some are small and gentle,
Barely making a splash.
Others are fierce and aggressive,
Terrifying people with their crash.
When standing on the sand,
My waves are all you see.
But far beneath my white caps,
I am calm, still. I am peace.
I invite you into my water
To explore the danger and beauty inside.
Those creatures are not me.
I’m simply where they reside.
You may notice it looks and feels
Strangely familiar to you.
That is because, my friend,
You are the ocean, too.
